Police issue appeal over drink driver

POLICE are seeking information regarding a 34-year-old man they arrested for drink driving at the weekend.

The man was detained after a black Ford Mondeo was found in a ditch on the A970 one mile south of the Vidlin junction on Saturday morning.

Police attending the scene found the badly damaged car, but no driver, 30 feet from the road. A man was later arrested for drink driving and failing to report the accident.

It is believed he may have been given a lift from the scene into Lerwick after the accident. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
