Young bowlers benefit from trip

EIGHT junior bowlers travelled south recently to compete against juniors from Aberdeen Indoor Bowling Club.

The trip proved very successful and overall the Shetland team won by a margin of two points.

The team consisted of one pair and two triples. Liam Evans (captain and skip) and Adam Wood played in a pairs competition and Jenny Watt (skip), Jenny Blackburn and Sarah Irvine competed in a triple competition with Jak Kissisck (skip), Fraser Mckenzie and Connal Thomason competing in the final triple.

The team also benefited by receiving a training session from the Aberdeen coaches.

A spokeswoman said Shetland Junior Bowling Club would like to thank The Camera Shop for providing the team shirts, the SIC for grant assistance and the Clickimin Centre for help, all of which contributed to making the trip possible.
