A MAN appeared in private from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday charged with culpably and recklessly navigating a boat and running it aground after drinking an excessive amount of alcohol.
Torbjorn Riise, 37, of Underhoul, East Voe, appeared on petition before Sheriff James Hendry and made no plea or declaration. He was committed for further examination and released on bail.
The town centre was a hive of activity this afternoon with Living Lerwick’s street parade the centre of attraction.
