Busy spell at end of week for fishmarket
LERWICK fishmarket saw a reasonable week up to yesterday, according to fish agents LHD.
Wednesday was particularly quiet, but things picked up yesterday when there were good landings and today is also expected to be good.
Pelagic activity has now finished but will resume in January.
Whitefish prices: cafish £1.74; cod £1.66-£2.63; dogfish £0.95- £1.26; eels £0.20-£0.74; haddock £0.30-£2.36; hake £1-£2.70; halibut £5.20-£8.80; John Dory £7-£9; lemon sole £1.45- £5.27; ling £1.15-£1.92; lythe £2.90-£3.66; megrims £1.19-£6.20; monkfish £2.08-£3.62; plaice £0.35-£1.80; saithe £0.36-£1.10; skate £0.45- £1.35; squid £1.86-£3.60; turbot £4.85-£11.10; tusk £1.00-£1.24; whiting £0.40-£2.45; witches £1.09-£1.49.
