Good fish prices

TRADE at the Lerwick fishmarket was lighter this week with the poor spell of weather but there have been very good prices for what has been landed, according to agents LHD.

The North Sea cod quota for the Shetland fleet ran out in the past 48 hours so little in the way of that species will be landed between now and the turn of the year.

Landings in the town were mainly from local boats, while there has been a steady amount of pelagic activity with Faroese and Norwegian vessels landing mackerel and herring.
