Security staff removed a 29-year-old man from the apron area of Sumburgh Airport on Sunday afternoon.
The man had made his way onto the area while a plane was waiting for clearance to take off.
After being taken from the area he was detained by police and later transferred to the care of medical authorities.
The town centre was a hive of activity this afternoon with Living Lerwick’s street parade the centre of attraction.
