FANS of dance music in Shetland will be well catered for over the festive period with respective visits from two of the UK’s leading DJs in consecutive weekends.

Nick Rafferty and Mark Sherry are no strangers to the isles and will be returning over Christmas to play at Posers Nightclub in Lerwick.

First up is Rafferty, who brings his Cream Anthems tour north for a set on Saturday 20th December. It will be his fourth trip to Shetland and his second of the year. With his earlier appearance a complete sell-out, a spokesman for the nightclub said tickets were already moving fast for the show.

Sherry will arrive on Saturday 27th December for his 10th appearance in the isles. His previous visits have included some high-profile shows including the final night of the North Star, as well as starring in front of 1,500 people in Fort Charlotte as part of the At The Edge festival in 2005.

Sherry, who is a founder member of acclaimed live dance act Public Domain, best known for their hit single Operation Blade, has seen his reputation skyrocket this year, not least playing after the mighty Tiesto at the Trance Energy festival in Utrecht back in February.

Tickets for both these events are available from the Grand Hotel priced at £8; otherwise admission is £10 at the door. Advance tickets for Sherry will only be available until 1pm on Xmas Eve when the Grand Hotel closes for the festive period.
