Sara hits the top in compound

LAST weekend saw the second competition of the indoor archery season take place, when 12 competitors lined up to shoot the Vegas round.

Each archer shot 60 arrows at 40cm face centres, set out in a triangular formation with scoring from six points to 10 points.

The compound section was a very tight affair with the top three separated by only two points. In third place was Ryan Leith with 574 out of a possible 600. Sara Leith and Martin Krusche were tied on 576 points, but Sara scored one more 10, giving her the compound and overall titles with Martin having to settle for second place.

In the recurve section, Dylan Murphy shot 508 to take second place, just five points behind Keith Lobban with 513. Daniel Meadows was third with 466.

Karen Anderson, who has just started shooting compound, scored an impressive 488 to claim the novice award.

The Conochies Indoor League started in November. Ryan Leith shot a personal best to lead the compound table.
