Women face stiff task with Celtic
THE SHETLAND women’s football team face a daunting task after drawing Glasgow Celtic B in the second round of the Unite Scottish Cup.
The Shetland players, who defeated Dunfermline Athletic 5-1 in the first round of the competition, now go into battle with opponents who are in the first division of the national leagues.
Coach Derrick Bradley said they were under no illusions about the prospect of travelling away to play Celtic, but would be giving it their best shot.
“It should be quite interesting to say the least,” Bradley said. “We are looking forward to it with great trepidation.”
The second round tie is scheduled for Sunday 1st February.
