Shuttles set to fly in Sunday matches

SHETLAND Badminton Association’s games resume after the Christmas break with the first division knockout on Sunday in the Scalloway games hall at 10am where Sandwick will play Aith and Yell A will play Yell B.

At 11.30am the winners of the first match will take on Whalsay while the Westside Bulls will play the victors of the Yell derby.

The final will be played late in the afternoon and teams are reminded to bring shuttles to share for these games.

The second division knockout has been drawn and the first round matches are to be played by the end of January.

The first division league has been split as agreed and fixtures will be sent out as soon as possible.

The under-13 development squad is back in action on Saturday mornings from 10am to noon and starts tomorrow. The under-15s are not playing this week due to a member being at a competition in Inverness, but will resume next Saturday from noon to 2pm in the Scalloway games hall.

Friday night games start tonight from 8pm to 10pm and all players over 15 are welcome at the Scalloway games hall where they can pay on the night.

Finally, A and B county training has begun and takes place on Monday nights in the Anderson High School games hall from 6pm to 8pm. All players are urged to attend or inform the committee if they are not available.
