Whitefish prices remain good

Prices at the fishmarket have been bearing up well this week, although supplies are likely to dry up as bad weather once again takes hold.

A spokesman for LHD said monkfish and megrims in particular have been fetching good prices, and a good number of fish had been booked in for today.

Whitefish prices: cod £1.40-£2.56; dogs £0.75-£1.63; haddock £0.38-£2.60; hake £1.10-£3.56; halibut £5.20-£9.90; John Dory £3.76-£6.10; lemons £2.00-£6.52; ling £1.42-£2.20; lythe £2.00-£3.31; megs £3.12-£8.44; monk £2.50-£5.20; plaice £0.45-£2.14; roes £1.40-£3.46; saithe £0.40-£1.20; skate £0.50- £1.94; squid £1.14-£3.76; turbot £6.00-£14.00; tusk £0.90-£1.10; whiting £0.30-£1.75; witches £0.58-£3.39.
