Scallywags beat the weather – and also Burra opponents

Bad weather put paid to all last week’s netball matches except the division three clash between Burra and Scallywags, which the latter won after a close tussle.

The game started off fast and furious and it was end-to-end play in the first half with both teams working hard. Scallywags made a few mistakes and Burra were finally able to take control, the half ending 13-11 in their favour.

The second half saw changes by Scallywags which unsettled Burra. Scallywags settled into a steady rhythm and were quickly pulling ahead. Excellent shooting from Scallywags’ Anne Marie Robinson and Cindi Pottinger enabled them to come out winners.

Players of the match were Bethany Laurenson for Burra and Nicola Smith for Scallywags.
