The retired Bressay ferry the Grima caused damage this week to the Bressay pier.
Mooring lines on the retired ferry, which was sold a few years ago, had parted causing the boat to smash into the side of the pier.
A spokesman for Lerwick Port Authority said the tug boat the Knab was dispatched to re-secure the vessel, which has now been moved further down the key.
