Steady traffic flow in harbour

It was a steady week for the harbour with a flow of ships arriving and departing.

The reefer Goyen arrived on Thursday with a cargo of frozen fish, en route to Nigeria. Frozen fish was also the cargo of Norwegian reefer Silver Bergen, which arrived on Friday and left for Ålesund.

British research vessel the Ocean Researcher arrived on Saturday, as did the tanker the Border Thistle.

The wild weather at the weekend made Sunday a particularly busy day with 18 fishing boats coming in to shelter. There were also a few reefers and some dive support vessels including the Bibby Topaz from Panama, making 26 arrivals in total.

Monday was quieter with mainly cargo and oil rig supply vessels arriving. The Norwegian supply vessel the Skandi Rona and the dive support vessel the Wellservicer arrived at the Greenhead base.
