Football’s GS Flooring Premier League resumed on Wednesday evening after the break for the island games with leaders Delting continuing their recent good form by easily disposing of Yell 7-0.

Whalsay kept in touch after a close 3-2 victory over Spurs, with John Montgomery, Bryan Irvine and Stuart Shearer on target for the winners and Josie Kay and Sam Goudie replying for the Lerwick side.

Thistle, enjoying a return to form of late, were too good for Ness United at Boddam, going home after a 4-0 triumph with a Craig Gerty double and Scott Morrison and Stevie Michael being the marksmen.

Celtic saw off Unst 2-0 courtesy of goals from youngsters James Aitken and Robert Smith while Whitedale defeated Scalloway 4-0 in the West Side derby. Ryan Jozwyk, Duncan Anderson and Jamie Wilson (2) grabbed the goals for the winners with David Sjoberg and Gary Burns netting for the village side.
