Man returned to cells after admitting thefts of electrical equipment

A man who committed several thefts recently appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday and was sent back to the cells.

Adam Nelson, 20, of Hoofields, Lerwick, pleaded guilty to stealing a digital camera valued at £100 from an unlocked vehicle in St Magnus Street on 10th July and stealing an Ipod docking station worth £109.99 from Bolt’s shop on Saturday. The items have not been recovered. A further plea of not guilty to stealing four T-shirts from Aspects shop in Lerwick was accepted.

Sheriff Graeme Napier told Nelson it would come as no surprise that he was not going to be allowed his liberty, given that he had breached bail and “all sorts of orders”. Sentence was deferred until 29th July for reports.
