Magnus heads north with his band Miss the Occupier

A popular Glasgow-based band featuring a Shetlander is making a brief and long overdue visit next week to play two dates in the isles.

Miss the Occupier, a three-piece indie punk outfit, includes Magnus Hughson from Lerwick on guitar and vocals. On lead vocals and bass is the glamourous frontwoman Roz Davies with Ione Campsie on drums.

The band was formed five years ago and has built a strong and loyal following, playing many major British cities from London to Aberdeen. They have supported The Fall and Bis, and are headlining King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow later this month.

Magnus said: “We are in Shetland to play at a friend’s birthday party, and we’re managing to slot in a performance at Captain Flint’s in Lerwick on Friday, 14th August.”
