A driver was trapped upside down in his car after it overturned at Channerwick on Friday morning. However he suffered no serious injuries.

The incident, in which no other car was involved, happened at around 10am and fire fighters from Lerwick, Sandwick and Sumburgh attended.

It is understood the man was suspended from his seatbelt for over an hour before he was cut free. He was taken to hospital in Lerwick but after a check-up was allowed home.
