Table tennis player Lynda Flaws retained her Scottish girls’ under-18 title in Saltcoats at the weekend.

She was in top form throughout the tournament, only dropping three games in the eight matches she played on her way to the title.

Lynda started off well, winning her first three matches 3-0, and defeated her next three opponents 3-1, 3-0 and 3-1 to take her through to the next round to play out for positions one to three.

She then upped her game against a tougher opponent to win 3-1. In her last and decisive match, she battled hard to beat the number one seed 3-0 and win the tournament overall.

Lynda received the trophy from Billy Main, chairman of North Ayshire Table Tennis.

She said she would like to thank the SIC for assisting with the travel costs, the Levenwick Hall and Sandwick School for the use of their halls to practice and Craig Christie for all his coaching.
