Former independent ambulance man appears in court on sex charges

One of the key figures behind the creation of Shetland’s independent ambulance service appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court on sex charges.

Christopher Andrew Readings, of Mossbank appeared on Wednesday on a petition alleging a number of sex offences.

He made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination, before being released on bail to an address in England.

Last year Readings was involved in the creation of Shetland Independent Ambulance Service (SIAS), formed following concerns over a lack of ambulance provision in the isles, although he later resigned.
