Lerwick police have reported a quiet weekend apart from four minor incidents.

In the early hours of Saturday, a man was assaulted a nightclub in the town centre and sustained minor injuries. Police said inquiries were ongoing and it was expected that a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.

A 46-year-old man was also arrested in the early hours of Saturday for committing a breach of the peace in the Gilbertson Road area of Lerwick. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at 2pm on Saturday at the Toll Clock Shopping Centre in Lerwick.

Four male youths were charged with theft at 7pm on Sunday after a Lerwick hotel reported that food had been stolen from the premises. A report will be sent to the Children’s Reporter.
