Police issue description of man who assaulted lone woman outside library

Police tonight issued a description of a man who assaulted a lone woman outside Lerwick library in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was white, around five feet 10 inches in height, of medium build, with a square jaw, pale skin and close cropped or shaved fair hair. He was wearing a Nike or Adidas hooded zipper top with dark Adidas tracksuit trousers and light training shoes. The man had been seen in the Hillhead and Union Street areas.

Officers appealed for anyone who saw or heard a disturbance, or may have been in this area at the time, or may have any information regarding the identity of this man, to come forward and contact them on (01595) 692110.
