Listen to those who matter

I am writing to thank everyone for their continued support for the campaign to keep music tuition free in Shetland.
I can only hope that our councillors make their decisions very carefully, thinking of more than just their purses, and instead considering the importance of cultural heritage and pride.
Shetland is, as we know, world famous for its music and it would be regretful if short-term, damaging decisions were made without considering the real and important issues.
I would hope that they listened to the people that matter – the bairns from the schools, the musicians who benefited from free tuition, and the rest of the world, including our many tourists, who look to Shetland as a centre for musical excellence.

Trondra.
