Brae teenager admits taking car without permission

Taking and driving away a car without permission on Saturday landed a teenager in the dock at Lerwick Sheriff Court today.

Appearing from custody, James Maloney, 18, of Burgadale, Brae, was charged with stealing a set of car keys from a house in Housaquoy, Brae, taking away the car, driving it on an unclassified road at Graven while being disqualified and driving without insurance. Maloney pleaded guilty to all four charges.

Honorary Sheriff George Sutherland released Maloney on bail, and continued the case until 28th July for the production of reports.
