A man appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court this afternoon in connection with yesterday’s haul of heroin worth around £20,000 at the NorthLink terminal in Lerwick.
Simon Philip McDonald, 36, of Garthdee Road, Aberdeen, made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination. He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
The town centre was a hive of activity this afternoon with Living Lerwick’s street parade the centre of attraction.
