Fine for man who used pick-axe to smash his way into woman’s shed

A man who used a pick-axe to smash his way into a woman’s shed was fined £200 at Lerwick Sheriff Court.

Sentence had been deferred on Marvin Hutchison, 43, of Sandside in Mossbank, after he admitted breaching the peace at a Brae address earlier this year.

Hutchison, who had just ended a relationship with the woman living there, had gone to the address to get back some of his tools.

He had entered the garden and refused to leave when asked to by the woman.

On Wednesday Lerwick Sheriff Court heard Hutchison had been of good behaviour since committing the offence.
