Thieves make off with Christmas presents from house in Lerwick

Christmas presents were stolen from a Lerwick house overnight between Saturday and Sunday.

The items were among electrical equipment taken from the building, in Ronald Street, after it was entered some time between midnight and 10am.

The police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious or has had any electrical items offered for sale to contact them on (01595) 692110 or the Safer Shetland Action Line on 694544.

Meanwhile, two men were arrested following domesic disputes in houses over on Christmas Day.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at a house in Lerwick at around 6pm and a 62-year-old man was arrested at around 10pm at a house in Ollaberry. Reports on both will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
