Man lost while walking in Muckle Roe

Shetland coastguard was alerted by police to a man who had become lost while out walking in Muckle Roe last night.

They called out the volunteer teams from Hillswick and Sullom at around 9.15pm to help locate the man, who was somewhere between Gilsa Water and Mukla Water.

The man, who was in good health, managed to find his way back down from the hill just after 10pm and was driven back to his accommodation at Busta House on the Sullom coastguard team’s quadbike.

Meanwhile, a woman was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries last night after a crash involving two cars on the A970 in Cunningsburgh at around 5.30pm. The other driver did was unhurt.
