Woman appears in court after police seize £4,000-worth of heroin

A woman has appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court in connection with a major heroin seizure in the isles.

Trudy Thomson, 27, of Gilbertson Road, Lerwick, appeared from custody on a petition alleging a contravention of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

She made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination before being released on bail.

Yesterday police seized heroin with a street value of £4,000 from a property in the South Mainland following information received in an intelligence-led operation. A 32-year-old man was also arrested.
