Mindless search for oil (John Siebert)

The “Atlantic Frontier” west of Shetland, the Falkland Island seas, the Alberta tar sands, the forests of Uganda …

Where will the current mindless search for oil in ever-diminishing quantities, recoverable at ever-increasing cost, undertaken with questionable technology and demanded by growth economics end, if not in tears?

    Those in need of an antidote to recurrences of learned helplessness brought on by “Peak Oil” scaremongering may derive comfort from the following links to;

    (a) an article by energy expert Lawrence Solomon in Canada’s Financial Post http://opinion.financialpost.com/2012/03/30/lawrence-solomon-a-world-awash-in-oil/ and

    (b) an article on human ingenuity from The Daily Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/commodities/9179202/Peak-oil-doomsayers-ignore-human-ingenuity.html
