A serious accident took place at Brig o’ Fitch near Lerwick shortly after 10am this morning involving one car.
Police said the male driver has been seriously injured and taken to hospital.
Due to the severity of his injuries the road was closed for three hours to allow for the possibility of road police to carry out collision investigations, with diversions in place through Scalloway.
