A 29-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday charged with an alleged assault that left a 17-year-old man with serious leg injuries.
The incident took place in Commercial Street, Lerwick, at 1.10am, and the 17-year-old was taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick before being transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
The 29-year-old is expected to appear at Lerwick Sheriff Court tomorrow.
A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
