Spiritual ornament goes missing after Budd-heist in Lerwick

Somebody in Lerwick could be heading for bad karma after police reported the theft of a cream Buddha ornament in the Quoys area of town.

The ornament is thought to have been taken sometime between Wednesday and Thursday, and police are appealing for witnesses.

Some work tools have also been stolen from a Staney Hill address sometime between Wednesday 19th and Wednesday 26th June.

Police chief inspector Angus MacInnes said there had also been four thefts from unsecured cars in and around Lerwick in the past week.

“We’d like to remind people to keep their cars locked with valuables out of view,” he said. “And if you see anything suspicious please report it to police right away.”
