Lost camera includes photograph of The Shetland Times
A digital camera which may belong to a Shetland family was found in the Scottish Borders, and its owners are being sought.
The camera was discovered in a passing place on the Eskdalemuir road several weeks ago, but the person who discovered it decided not to hand it in to the police station. Fearing that it would simply languish there in a lost property cupboard, he is instead trying to trace its owners himself.
Among the photographs is one showing a Shetland Times newspaper on a table, so the family may be from here or have connections with the islands. However, the majority of the images show a holiday that seems to have taken in large parts of the UK, including pictures from Blair Drummond Safari Park, the Falkirk Wheel and locations in Wales, the north of England and the Borders.
The photographs also show a red Ford Focus car. Several of the pictures also show a boy in a wheelchair, as well as other members of the holidaying family.
If anyone knows who the camera belongs to they can get in touch with the finder on 07803926675.

Hope you found the owner.

a good idea when you start a new card in your camers it the first photo should be of a letter you have received in the post with your address showing. thus if found its in with your photos and then easily returned. iven if you just get the memory card back its worth the effort

The owner of the camera has been found and is very happy to think he will be able to have his holiday snaps back. He is very grateful to the person who took the trouble to contact the paper.

The media tends to show the less admirable side of life, and we hear mostly horrible stories. This one warms the heart, however. Most people are kind and generous, but we need to be reminded sometimes. Thanks for running it.

Oh! ….And thanks, Fraser, for a very good idea!
