Record number of white fish landings

0 comments, , by , in Fishing & Sea, News

A record number of white fish have been landed today – on the first white fish market of the year.

A total of 4060 boxes were landed, according to LHD salesman Brian Spence – which is believed to be the largest amount per day on record.

Mr Spence said it was “a good start” to the New Year, with eight local boats and one Scottish boat bringing in the impressive haul.

“It wasn’t an even an awful lot of boats, maybe nine boats that have been fishing over the New Year period.”
