Drivers fined

A speeding driver was caught breaking the limit in a 60mph area outside the town at the weekend.

The motorist was handed a fixed penalty notice after being nabbed driving at 75mph shortly before 10pm on Saturday night.

The incident happened on the A970 at Ladies Drive outside Lerwick.

Meanwhile, two motorists caught on the A970 at Fladdabister on Sunday afternoon.

One was handed a fixed penalty after being caught at 83mph. The other will be the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal after being nabbed driving at 89mph.
