Hildasay in dry dock for repairs

One of Serco NorthLink’s two freight vessels, the Hildasay, has gone into dry dock for repairs.

According to reports on radio last weel the vessel was understood to have sustained damage in bad weather during a recent trip.

However, Serco NorthLink said the ship was undergoing scheduled maintenance and would be back in service on 6th June.

Spokeswoman Marion Jones said: “Dry-docking the Hildasay now is preferable to dry-docking her during any other period and will provide operational continuity during both the summer period and the all-important livestock shipping period during the autumn.

“We expect the Hildasay to be back in service early next month.”
