Fog delays Sumburgh flights

The dreaded fog brought disruption to services at Sumburgh Airport today, with several flights being cancelled or delayed due to poor visibility.

Low-lying cloud was to blame for the cancellation of three flights – from Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Other services from Glasgow and Edinburgh were delayed.

A separate flight from Aberdeen, which was scheduled to arrive in the isles just after 1pm, was held up until almost 2.45pm.

Normal service resumed after the fog lifted during the afternoon.

But Loganair has asked passengers to bear in mind flights are still subject to disruption following the earlier weather delays.
