Charged with drink driving

A former jarl has been accused of being at the wheel while more than three times the drink driving limit.

Stanley Manson, 57, of King Harald Street in Lerwick is charged with driving with 124 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

The offence is said to have happened on Monday at North Lochside and the Clickimin Leisure Centre car park.

The case before Manson at Lerwick Sheriff Court was continued without plea until 21st August.

Honorary sheriff Arnold Duncan granted the Crown seizure of Manson’s car.
