Three hurt in crash near Voe

Three people were taken to hospital following a four-vehicle crash south of Voe near Petta Water this morning.
Three cars and a Ford Transit were involved in the collision on the A970 with the vehicles said to be severely damaged. Three ambulances were involved in taking the casualties to hospital. A police spokesman said that none of the people had life-threatening injuries.
Fire engines from Brae, Hillswick and Lerwick, manned by 14 firemen, were called as a precautionary measure with their role limited to securing the scene.
Police received the emergency call at 8.34am and the road was closed to traffic at 9.10am. One lane was reopened at 9.43 with two of the vehicles being uplifted and the other two off road.
