Storms force ferry disruption

Inter-island ferry services have been disrupted with some suspended and tomorrow’s north boat sailing from Lerwick to Aberdeen has been delayed due to bad weather.

Today the Whalsay and the Bluemull Sound services have been suspended while the Yell Sound service is disrupted due to weather.

Tonight’s northbound sailing of the Hjaltland passenger ferry will leave Aberdeen for Lerwick at 7pm.

The Hrossey is to leave Lerwick sailing for Aberdeen at 7pm. She is estimated to arrive in Aberdeen around midday.

Tomorrow night’s sailing from Aberdeen to Lerwick will be delayed until Thursday morning.

The ferry is expected to arrive in Lerwick at 10.30pm. The sailing is under review and an update will follow tomorrow.

Tonight and tomorrow’s freight sailings to Lerwick have been cancelled.
