Accused of knife offence

A man has been released on bail after being accused of carrying a knife in a public place.

Grzegorz Rogawczewski, 48, of Ladies Drive in Lerwick appeared from custody in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court today accused of the offence.

He made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.

In a separate case – this time held in open court – the Polish man was accused threatening co-accused Nathan Robertson, 18, of Culswick, with violence at a house in the town’s Norgaet on Sunday.

For his part, Robertson is charged with assaulting Rogawczewski at Ladies Drive, punching him on the head, also on Sunday.

That case was continued without plea until Wednesday. The two were ordered to abide by a special bail condition not to contact one another.
