Council’s telephone problems

Shetland Islands Council is experiencing telephone problems across a number of sites.

Anyone trying to contact any council premises, including offices, schools and care homes will find the phone line “unobtainable”. This includes leisure centres and other public buildings using the council’s network.

E-mails and internal phone calls within the council are unaffected.

BT are aware of the problem and are working to restore the phone lines as a priority. Members of the public are asked to be patient while the situation is resolved and to try calling again later today.

The SIC apologies for the inconvenience.
