Woman bailed after assault charge

A Lerwick woman has been bailed after being accused of assaulting a nurse and a policeman in the town last night.

Fiona Manson, 42, of Hoofields, appeared from custody and made no plea at Lerwick Sheriff Court this afternoon.

She is charged with punching a police constable on the head at her home in Hoofields and assaulting a staff nurse at the Gilbert Bain Hospital by head butting her and assaulting the same policeman by kicking him on the head in the hospital.

Sheriff Philip Mann released Manson on bail and warned her not to tamper with witnesses. Her case will be continued on 2nd September.
