Homeless man accused of abusive behaviour in Scalloway

A man has been remanded in custody after allegedly making threats, having a knife and thereafter smearing excrement over the walls of his cell at the police station in Lerwick.

Homeless Craig Nelson, 27, is accused of acting abusively at an address in Scalloway on Friday, possessing a kitchen knife and making the mess in his cell following his arrest.

On Monday, trial at Lerwick Sheriff Court was set for 17th March, with an intermediate diet, via video-link, on 1st March.

Bail was refused.
