, by , in News

Shetland Coastguard has been called to airlift an injured crewman from a north-east oil platform.

Aberdeen Coastguard received the call from the Brent Delta platform 115 miles north-east of Lerwick, at about 7.40am.

However the Shetland helicopter was tasked to take the man to safety.

It landed in Tingwall at 10.45am before the man was taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital.
