Delting won their third penalty shoot-out of the 2018 Parish Cup to become champions of the competition for the 14th time.

In 120 minutes of football, neither the North Mainland side nor Southend United managed to convert any chances at Lerwick’s Gilbertson Park.

But shoot-out heroics from Delting goalkeeper Iain Devonald, who saved twice from the spot on the way to winning “man of the match”, earned Rab Duffin’s men their first Parish Cup victory since 2009.

Nine years ago Delting also defeated Southend United, the final score 4-2.
