Water supply disrupted

Homes in East Voe were left without any water supply yesterday, with around 10 properties experiencing disruption thanks to a burst water main.

Scottish Water sent a squad of vans to the area, and workers took until 7pm to repair the fault.

However, an air lock in the system meant it took longer than hoped to restore supplies to all customers. Those on higher ground continued to experience disruption or low pressure.

Scottish Water said: “This problem was overcome around 10pm and all customers should have had water restored shortly thereafter. We apologise for the disruption caused.”
