The squad travelled to Motherwell for the final of the competition which was held at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in the town.

And it was worth the journey with the AHS girls emerging victorious following a 44-21 win against Glasgow-based Hollyrood Secondary School.

The AHS team consisted of: Bethany Anderson, Leanne Fullerton, Heather Marshall, Tahnae Maclennan, Claire Johnston, Emma Niven, Curstaidh MacKay, Holly King, Libby Fox and Aimee Strachan.

• A full match report will be included in next week’s Shetland Times.

Earlier this month the AHS netball team reached the final of the cup, following 44-17 quarter-final and 40-19 semi-final wins against Dundee High School and Albyn from Aberdeen.
