The Family Dental Clinic is in the premises of the former Complementary Health Clinic opposite Grantfield Garage, and is owned and will be run by dentist Michael Rylko.

Mr Rylko will operate a private practice, and not take on NHS work.
Refurbishment and redecoration of the premises has been going on for several months, and the latest brand new dental equipment is almost all in place – and he has already treated an emergency patient.

Mr Rylko, who last year worked for nine months as a locum with NHS Shetland, said he hoped his new venture would enable patients to be seen in weeks rather than months. He has previously been critical of the length of time it takes for those registered with a dentist to get an appointment, and for those “waiting to be registered” to get registered.

Appointments have already been made with Mr Rylko, who said he aims to offer “affordable, accessible dentistry” with flexible working hours – and promises it will not be too expensive.

Working with Mr Rylko will be dental nurse Rachael Boxall, and his wife Agniesaka Kozera will be doing some reception work.
